Senate says no to discrimination

Only 48 for. To me, it boils down to the issue of whether or not you put discrimination into the Constitution and to that I say no.

Read the article and you will see two expected things have happened:

1. A Republican asshole such as Rick Santorum had to equate banning gay marriage to protecting the homeland. Hey, fuckhead, why don't you tell your President to go after Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda instead of fighting a war in Iraq and trying to ban gay marriage?

2. Daschle shows his wimpiness. "I agree with the Republicans however I don't agree with them." How can this man still be Senate Minority Leader?

This issue won't die, of course. The roll call will be used by Republicans in the November elections to show who has "American moral values" and who is a terrorist. Kerry and Edwards not being there to cast a vote will be made into their overt sponsorship of terrorism. And the Republicans will continue to bring up the issue of this amendment until they browbeat and intimidate enough Democrats in the Senate, Democrats in the Congress, and members of the "liberal media" into believing that the only way to stop the terrorists is to ban same sex marriage.
