F*ck bipartisanship, a new tone, healing the divide

If the Democrats fall for any talk of these things, then they deserve to be the minority party. We all know that all of this talk is Republican code for agree with us and maybe we won't destroy you as much. They won't compromise and will call Democrats obstructionists if they don't compromise enough to meet them on their uncompromising end. Even if Democrats gave in fully, they'd still be called traitors, un-American, and the like. And, when we run someone in 2008, they'll say, see, look, he/she supported us before, why are they flip-floppers, why don't they know where they stand on issues?

Bush is probably the most divisive figure in politics ever. We're "red states" and "blue states" because of him. In 2000, he was a "uniter not a divider" and he was going to bring both sides of the aisle together because that was the kind of guy he was. What a lie. And now, they're hauling out the same tired promise again? And people believe it? We're stooges if we fall for it.

Would they be conciliatory if they were in our shoes? Of course not.

So, I say, fuck this conciliatory talk. These are the Divided States of America. Republicans--you wanted division, you got it.
